Ameer Khusro Music Centre is an organzation dedicated to Indian Classical Music

Ameer Khusro Centre for Music (AKCM) was founded in 2007 in Delhi as a not-for-profit organization. The primary mission of AKCM is to preserve the great art form of Indian classical music and to pass this ancient Indian heritage to the future generation. AKCM is dedicated to the appreciation and promotion of Indian Classical Music (Hindustani style). Our mission is to offer lovers of classical music a unique opportunity to enjoy and closely participate in the promotion of classical music activities in Delhi and to promote Indian classical music among the youth.

 

The AKCM exists to stimulate the awareness, appreciation and performance of Indian Classical Music by making the music of it's Associate musicians generally available through the Centre’s collection, information resources, and production and distribution activities.

 

Objectives:- 

1. The Ameer Khusro Centre for Arts AKCM is a non – profit organization established to advance classical music, the arts, culture and creativity among the nationals and residents of Delhi.

2. AKCM's main objective is to promote the awareness, the knowledge and the cultural value of music among the youth of India.

 

3. By helping young people better understand their own musical heritage and discover the richness of other music traditions, AKCM opens new horizons and avails them a welcome opportunity to fully experience the universal language of music.

4. To teach Indian Classical Music to any student of any age who is interested . AKCM will held classes for the teaching and traing of Classical Music free of cost  for the highly talented students.

 

5. To present educational programs for school children and to acquaint them with the artistry and cultural traditions of Indian Classical Music.

 

6.Organizing workshops and seminars focusing on central elements in North Indian Classical Music and other North Indian music genres.

 

7. To hold charitable functions for a cause.

 

8. To bring to light and help and support musicians who have been overlooked or neglected by commercial  music producers and concert organizers.

 

9. To help those who need financial or fund raising help due to natural disasters, around the world by performing music and performing arts.

 

10. To provide mutual understanding and co – operation between AKCM and other performing arts societies, schools and universities.
